I have very oily skin on my face and my scalp and hair are just as oily. Even as a middle aged adult, I still occasionally break out with a pimple on my face every other month or so if I neglect the use of acne based soaps with salicylic acid (2%). I have had issues with my scalp and hair over my entire lifetime. I would get dandruff, occasional lumps on my scalp, and the once in a while, but painful pimple on my scalp. I have used Head & Shoulders, Selson Blue (regular), Neutrogena Tar, and thought I found the Holy Grail of shampoos with Neutrogena T/Sal (3% salicylic acid). Since using T/Sal, I haven't had lumps or pimples on my scalp since using it. The dandruff is almost all gone as well. The main issue with the T/Sal was that it ONLY came in a SMALL bottle (4.5oz) and it is EXPENSIVE at six dollars a bottle. I was at the local Wally World last week and I found this new Selsun Blue Naturals shampoo with the same 3% salicylic acid ingredient as the T/Sal. First of all, the Selsun Blue Naturals is 11oz or more than DOUBLE the size of the 4.5oz T/Sal. As for the price it was under seven dollars! This means that you get more than double the amount for almost the same price! This shampoo has a very nice citrus fragrance and comes in another scent (Island Breeze). The T/Sal has no fragrance. This shampoo is also thinner than the T/Sal, but using the same amount of shampoo would still give me the same rich lather. Like most dandruff shampoos out there, you MUST rinse your hair with warm water first and then lather the shampoo on your scalp and LEAVE IT ON YOUR SCALP FOR A FEW MINUTES. I use this shampoo daily now and wouldn't go back to the T/Sal even it was the same price for the same amount!
